Ex i Junction Box
The intrinsic safety concept involves restricting the energy to a level that is incapable of serving as an ignition source. This is accomplished through the use of barriers. In most cases, terminals with a blue color designation are employed for intrinsic safety (Ex i) requirements. According to IEC/EN 60079-7 standards, the terminals must be of a blue color and marked with a warning label indicating “CONTAINS INTRINSICALLY SAFE CIRCUITS.”
